Fortuitous

I love stories about products that were developed as something else and then discovered to have a larger usage.  Examples include Roundup developed originally to clean rust off of metal fences, then discovered to be a systemic herbicide; Viagra developed as heart medicine, then discovered to treat erectile dysfunction, etc.

Now there is Tecnu (also spelled Teknu), a heavy duty cleanser developed orginally to clean radioactive residue off of Rad-Com suits in labs, now discovered to effectively clean the skin of poison oak and poison ivy oils, and thus with proper use, prevent breakouts even if you have been playing in the weeds.

Poison oak treatment is not a big category, but it may be bigger than cleaning up radioactive residue.  (At least now and hopefully forever).  But if you have ever suffered through poison ivy or poison oak, treatment and cure is damned important to you at the moment.  I was informed of this product by one of our new associates, Aaron Tovi, whom I believe does his share of rock climbing and knows what he is talking about.
